The Bible in Modern and Current Literature

This research field focuses on texts (mainly prose) written in various languages that re-narrate a biblical story from a different angle. These texts redesign biblical characters while adding to and expanding the original story; they sometimes put a marginal biblical character at the center of the new plot or give a modern interpretation to a main biblical character.
